I have been working in the role of Infection Control since 1994.
Education:
Infection Control Course Flinders University school of Nursing & Midwifery.
12 month course Graduate Certificate in Nursing Science (Infection Control) – completed in 2002 at the Uni of Adelaide Australia.
Attended yearly updates for Infection Control – Flinders university and numerous other courses relating to Infection Control and Wound Management.
Yearly updates on immunisation process and administration
Job Description:
-
Monthly reporting on all Infections within the Aged Care Commonwealth and State Residents and Skin Integrity Reports.

Also attended Acute Care Infection Control Reports which are then all tabled at the QRS & Nurses Meeting.

Follow up care and management on infections that occur within Tailem Bend District Hospital and Nursing Home.

Education of staff and families on care required.

Supervise administration of staff vaccinations

Supervise administration of vaccinations for Aged Care Residents

Encourage staff to vaccinate against controllable diseases

Act as a resource person to solve Infection related problems in consultation with management personnel.
