Tailem Bend District Hospital has a 24-hour Emergency Service that is available to everyone.

If you have a Medical Emergency - Dial 000 for an ambulance
We DO NOT HAVE a doctor here at all times.A Doctor is always on call for EMERGENCIES.What should I do during office hours?
Contact your local doctor's surgery and tell them your concerns. They will advise you whether to come straight to the hosptial or go to their rooms.
What should I do if I don't have a local doctor?
Contact the hospital and a nurse will assist you and refer you on to the doctor on call.
What should I do in the evenings or overnight?
You can ring the hospital for first aid advice, or come in and a nurse will assist you and assess your needs for emergency care.
Weekends and Public Holidays?
We have doctors on call AT ALL TIMES for emergencies only.
Will I be seen straight away?
You will be seen in order of priority. This is called 'Triaging'.

SUNDAY
The doctor's clinics are closed. You can ring the hospital to speak to a nurse or come in and a nurse will assess and discuss with you, your need for emergency care.
It is inappropriate to attend the Accident & Emergency Department for routine medical consultations.

Hypertension Clinic

Do you have High Blood Pressure? (Hypertension)
Woudl you like to know more about what causes high blood pressure and options that will assist you in controlling this condition?
Hypertension Clinics are held fortnightly on a Tuesday at the hospital.
Please ask your local medical Officer to refer you and appointments can be made by Tailem Bend Medical Centre staff.
